The main reason why I posted the video of the university here the other day was because of the stress they put on the importance of education. 

When I first arrived here I was impressed by the architecture of the buildings, so modern and clean. All wood and glass. I study in Kumpulan campus, which is about 20 minutes by bus from my house. It's a real campus, with several departments and faculties, a sport centre, several cafeterias, and lots of green areas. Just so you get the picture, the student's office is in a botanical garden!

Anyway, as you might have noticed for the pictures I uploaded, the whole complex is quite nice and efficient. A friend yesterday told me "the cold makes people efficient!". It actually does! One basic and simple screen in the entrance hall that shows when the next bus comes is one of the most clever ideas I've seen so far here. Of course, it's too cold to sit outside and wait in the wintertime. But why has nobody ever thought of it in Italy? I mean, it's not just useful to avoid the cold, but also to avoid rain for example.

I'll talk about the cafeteria an other time, when I'll introduce you to finnish "cuisine". About the sport's centre, there's a lot to say!! First of all it's extremely cheap! 10 euro fee for a month to get group training, entrance to the gym, sauna and free access to a climbing wall. No wonder I've been going everyday (by the way, Zumba is super cool!!)!! Then again, in the video it said that finnish people believe in free education AND health.

About my actual internship... well, there is A LOT to say! (This will be a very long post).

I am attending two classes, one is called Interactive Systems, and the other is a Seminar. You can check out the links to them, to know what they are actually about. For the first one, my group work consists of creating an app for mobile phones so that people can easily access different applications while walking. The main idea behind it is to avoid the "heads down" interaction, where people actually risk hurting themselves by looking constantly at their phones instead of where they're walking. Of course I cannot program so I just helped getting the ideas and the visual concept. For the seminar, instead, I am (was) working on how to obtain data from the mobile phone so that it would know where I am, e.g. on the bus, in the car, etc... and adjust accordingly. This project is actually to complex for my skills, and there isn't much that I can do to help, so I will be following it from a distance. 
To all the people that ask me WHY ON EARTH I am doing my training in Computer Science when I am actually studying Psychology, well here is the answer: I believe that if you want to work in a particular field (in my case, ergonomics) you actually have to know quite a bit of how things work, not just from your "professional" point of view, but also from the point of view of who works with you and that isn't in your field, i.e. computer scientists! It is really fascinating and I decided I will probably learn some basics on programming, because I have the feeling here I don't know how to do absolutely anything.

My training is not just attending classes though. I've worked at HIIT (check out the link!) for an experiment on interactions with multi-touch tables. Have you ever seen one? Ever played with one? They are actually quite cool. It's like a huge ipad and, together with a Kinect, it can do some really cool stuff. So you get an idea of what I was working on (I really can't tell much more for the moment) check out this video. It's a multi-touch screen that was in the city of Helsinki a few years ago as an experiment conducted by HIIT.

Furthermore, my training includes also paper research. I've been reading lots of scientific papers on several topics 1. to become aware of what people are working on around the world and 2. because when writing a paper you always have to go through all the related papers that have been written!

Ok, I think this is enough for an update on what I'm actually doing up here! As you can see, my days are quite busy, but the weekend are usually free so I get a chance to see places! This weekend it´s going to be......................... TALLIN!! :D

Oh, one last thing... Remember I had told you about news I was waiting for this week? Well, the good new arrived!! I will actually be paid to do my internship! Being used to the italian system, I was surprised when I discovered that in Finland trainees MUST be paid. It actually does make sense though! So again, in Finland they really do care about your education!!

La ragione principale per cui ho postato il video dell'università qui l'altro giorno è stato per l'enfasi che hanno messo su l'importanza dell'istruzione.

Quando sono arrivata qui mi ha colpito l'architettura degli edifici, cosí moderni e puliti. Tutto in legno e vetro. Io studio al campus Kumpula, che dista circa 20 minuti di autobus da casa mia. E' un vero e proprio campus, con i vari dipartimenti e facoltà, un centro sportivo, mense, e un sacco di aree verdi. Solo per darvi un'idea, la segreteria studenti è in un giardino botanico!
Comunque, come avrete notato per le foto che ho caricato, l'intero complesso è molto bello e accogliente. Un amico ieri mi ha detto "il freddo rende le persone efficiente!". Lo fa davvero! Un semplice schermo nell'ingresso che mostra tra quando arriva il prossimo bus è una delle idee più intelligenti che ho visto finora qui. Naturalmente, fa troppo freddo per stare fuori e aspettare d'inverno. Ma perché nessuno non ci ha mai pensato in Italia? Voglio dire, non è solo utile per evitare il freddo, ma anche per evitare la pioggia, per esempio.

Parlerò della mensa in un altro momento, quando ti presento la cucina finlandese. Per quanto riguarda il centro sportivo, c'è molto da dire! Prima di tutto è estremamente a buon mercato! Costa solo 10 euro per un mese e poi partecipare ai corsi, entrare in palestra (per fare attrezi), sauna e accesso gratuito a una parete di arrampicata. Non c'è da stupirsi che vado tutti i giorni (a proposito, Zumba è super cool!!)!! Come veniva detto nel video, i finlandesi credono in un'istruzione e salute gratuita per tutti!
 

Che dire del mio tirocinio ... beh, c'è molto da dire! (Questo sarà un post molto lungo).Frequento due corsi, una si chiama Interactive Systems, e l'altro è un seminario. Per il primo, il mio lavoro di gruppo consiste nel creare un'applicazione per telefoni cellulari in modo che le persone possono accedere facilmente diverse applicazioni mentre si cammina. L'idea principale dietro di esso è di evitare l'effetto "testa bassa", in cui siamo costantemente attenti al nostro cellulare e non guardiamo dove camminiamo, rischiando di farci pure male. Naturalmente io non sono in grado di programmare quindi ho solo aiutato a ottenere le idee e il concetto visivo. Per il seminario, invece, sto (stavo) lavorando su come ottenere i dati dal telefono cellulare in modo che esso sappia dove sono, ad esempio, in autobus, in macchina, ecc .. e regolarsi di conseguenza. Questo progetto è effettivamente complesso per le mie capacità, e non posso fare molto, quindi lo seguiró a distanza.

 

A tutte le persone che mi chiedono PERCHE DIAVOLO sto facendo il mio tirocinio in informatica quando sto effettivamente studiando psicologia, ecco qui la risposta: credo che se si desidera lavorare in un campo particolare (nel mio caso, l'ergonomia) bisogna effettivamente saperecome funzionano le cose, non solo dal mio punto "professionale" di vista, ma anche dal punto di vista di chi lavora conme  e che non è nel mio campo, cioè gli informatici! E' davvero affascinante e ho deciso che probabilmente impararó alcune nozioni di base sulla programmazione, perché ho la sensazione qui non so fare assolutamente nulla.
 

Il mio tirocinio non consiste solo nel frequentare lezioni però. Ho lavorato al HIIT (Helsinki Institue for Information Techonology) su un esperimento sulle interazioni con piani multi-touch. Ne avete mai visto uno? Avete mai giocato con un tavolo multi-touch? Sono davvero belli. E' come un ipad enorme e, se unito ad un Kinect, si possono fare alcune cose davvero interessanti. In modo da avere un'idea su quello a cui stavo lavorando (non posso davvero dire molto di più per il momento) guardate questo video. Si tratta di un schermo multi-touch, installato nella città di Helsinki pochi anni fa come  esperimento condotto sempre da HIIT.

Inoltre, il mio tirocinio comprende anche ricerche bibliografiche. Ho letto un sacco di lavori scientifici su vari argomenti 1. per prendere coscienza di ciò a cui le persone stanno lavorando in tutto il mondo e 2. perché quando si scrive un articolo bisogna sempre controllare tutti i lavori giá pubblicati!

Ok, penso che questo sia sufficiente come spiegazione su quello che sto realmente facendo qui! Come potete vedere, le mie giornate sono molto piene, ma il fine settimana di solito sono liberi così ho tempo di girare! Questo fine settimana tocca a ......................... TALLIN! : D


Ah, un'ultima cosa ... Ricordate che avevo detto che stavo aspettando delle novità questa settimana? Beh, la buona notizia é arrivata! Il mio tirocinio verrá pagato! Abituata al sistema italiano, sono rimasta sorpresa quando ho scoperto che in Finlandia i tirocinanti DEVONO essere pagati. Ha davvero un senso però se ci pensate! Quindi, di nuovo, in Finlandia hanno davvero a cuore l'istruzione!

Ieri era il compleanno di mio fratello e l'unica cosa che riuscivo a pensare era quando da piccoli giocavamo insieme del bosco vicino a un torrente.

Nuuksio National Park

Fall has finally arrived. The leaves are quickly changing colors and the sun is shining outside. Yesterday I went hiking in Nuuksio National Park and I must say, I really enjoyed it! I've been walking a lot here in Helsinki and I also started to go the gym (next week I'll try Zumba!) so yesterday wasn't too hard to walk up and down the hills of the park, but it was still exhausting! Finland has definitely a beautiful landscape!

I'm off to a flea market today, and hopefully I can find something nice to decorate my sad room with.

The past week has been quite normal, just classes and project work. Hopefully I should get some good news next week so, for the moment I'll keep my fingers crossed and leave you all in suspense!

L'autunno è finalmente arrivato. Le foglie sono cambiando colore velocemente e il sole splende fuori. Ieri sono andata a fare un'escursione nel Parco Nazionale di Nuuksio e devo dire, mi sono davvero divertita! Cammino molto qui ad Helsinki e ho anche iniziato ad andare in palestra (la prossima settimana proverò Zumba!), quindi ieri non è stato troppo difficile camminare su e giù per le colline del parco, ma nonostante ciò, è stato comunque estenuante! La Finlandia ha sicuramente dei bei paesaggi!

Oggi vado a un mercatino delle pulci e spero di trovare qualcosa di carino per decorare la mia triste camera.

La scorsa settimana è stata abbastanza normale, ho avuto solo lezioni e lavori di gruppo. La settimana prossima dovrei ricevere delle belle notizie quindi dita incrociate e vi lascio nel mistero!! 

Hanko and Turku

I guess it's time to update again. I'm wondering what should I talk about first, if I should tell you about my internship, about exchange student life or trips I've gone on so far, or if you'd rather know what things there are to do here in Helsinki. At some point, I hope to talk about all of these things!

My days go by so fast that I rarely have time to sit down and write all I experience. I think I'll talk about university stuff later on, when things get more defined. In the meantime you can look at some of the photos I've uploaded that were taken in Kumpulan campus, where I have classes. Otaniemi and Innopoli, instead, is where I do my internship for the moment, and it's actually not part of Helsinki city, because it's in Espoo. 

There are some other pictures I've uploaded yesterday, which I took during my first trip to see Turku. The trip itself was very cheap, only 20 euro, and it covered all sorts of things! We first went to Raseborg Castle, or what remains of it, then headed towards Hanko, which is the most southern place in Finland and I had the brilliant idea of wetting my feet in the Baltic sea while sick with a cold. The water was quite "fresh" (=freezing cold!!) and my nose is even more stuffed now! :-/ But I had to do it!! Hanko is the town were the Germans disembarked to attack Russians during World War II. Nowadays it's a nice place to be only in the summer, because starting from November the wind is so strong it can blow you away.

We finally got to Turku (main reason why I chose to go on this trip) at 17 o'clock and went straight to visit the castle, which I didn't find as nice as the first one we saw. This left us only a half an hour to visit the city, so we actually ended up just seeing the cathedral where the Christmas festivity is proclaimed. I'll definitely go back, since Turku is the capital of culture this year and its Christmases' traditions are more important than the ones in Rovaniemi (home of Santa Claus!). 

Where shall my next trip be?? Tallin maybe? Any suggestions?

Credo sia ora di aggiornare di nuovo. Mi chiedo di cosa dovrei parlare prima, se raccontarvi del mio tirocinio, della vita in erasmus o delle gite che ho fatto fino ad ora, o se si preferite conoscere cosa c'è da fare qui a Helsinki. Prima o poi voglio parlare di tutte queste cose!

I miei giorni passano così velocemente che raramente ho il tempo di sedermi e scrivere tutto quello che ho fatto/visto. Penso che parlarò dell'università più avanti, quando le cose saranno più definite. Nel frattempo potete guardare alcune delle foto che ho caricato, scattate al Kumpulan campus, dove ho lezione. Otaniemi e Innopoli, invece, è dove faccio il mio stage per il momento, e in realtà non è parte della città di Helsinki, perché è a Espoo. 

Ho caricato alcune foto ieri, scattate durante il mio primo viaggio a Turku. Il viaggio in sè era molto economico, solo 20 euro, e comprendeva di tutto! Prima siamo andati al castello di Raseborg, o meglio a ciò che rimane di esso, poi siamo andati ad Hanko, che è il luogo più a sud della Finlandia e ho avuto la brillante idea di bagnare i piedi nel mare Baltico, finchè avevo (ho) il raffreddore. L'acqua era abbastanza "fresca" (= gelida!) e ora il mio naso è ancora più tappato! : - / Ma dovevo farlo! Hanko è la città in cui i tedeschi sono sbarcati per attaccare i russi durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Oggi è un bel posto solo in estate, perché a partire da novembre il vento è così forte che ti porta via. 

Dopo Hanko, siamo finalmente riusciti ad arrivare a Turku (motivo principale per cui ho scelto di andare in questa gita) alle cinque di sera e siamo andati direttamente a visitare il castello, a mio avviso meno bello del primo. Questo ci ha lasciato solo una mezz'ora per visitare la città, per cui abbiamo effettivamente solo visto la cattedrale, dove viene proclamato l'inizio del Natale. Tornerò sicruamente a Turku, dal momento che è la capitale della cultura quest'anno e le sue tradizioni Natalizie sono più importanti rispetto a quelli a Rovaniemi (casa di Babbo Natale!). 

Dove sarà il mio prossimo viaggio? A Tallin forse? Qualche suggerimento?

Windy window

It never hit me that being Helsinki on the sea, it would be a windy capital. But than again, I thought, could it be even windier than Chicago, the "windy city" by definition?!

Apparently yes.

It so happens that the other night I decided to go to the club room here in Domus Academica because we were having an international dinner. The evening was fun, didn't actually eat anything since I arrived late, but met some really nice spanish people. I decide to go to bed early, I haven't really slept much lately and I had to get up early the next day. When back in my room I was happily chatting on facebook with friends and boyfriend when suddenly I noticed that the external window was open. Let me explain: I have to windows, a big one and a small one. I can actually open only the small one. They both have double glass panels, so that they isolate from the cold.
Well, back to my story, the external window was slowly but steady banging in the internal window, making it open slightly. Outside the wind was blowing harder and harder. Things were getting serious. I decide to go to bed and close my eyes, in hopes that the worst part was just that terrible sound.
Sure enough my predictions became true: the two windows eventually flew open! (and just remember here: I don't have a handle for that window, I'm living in Helsinki and at night it gets pretty cold!).
Ok, no panic (PANIC!!), what do I do?! I call the 24/7 assistance, for sure they'll come and fix it. I call, they answer, they do not work for Domus, I hang up. I run down to the lobby, look for the right number, go back up, call them and happily discover that they do service Domus, but unfortunately "the man on duty doesn't have the pieces he needs with him so you will have to wait until tomorrow morning". I ask the "friendly" man what should I do, sleep in my room with the window completely open and wind blowing in??? His answer: "Sorry I can't do anything else. It's not my problem".

Let me just say... F***!

Knocking on my neighbor's door at 2 am was not what I had planned, but I didn't have a choice!! She was so kind and help me close the window somehow with a stick and a book (creative erasmus students!!) and then moved my mattress to her room.

Night goes by slowly and awkwardly. The wind was really disturbing me, plus I was worried my room would be devastated. In the morning I scoot out silently and find that our ingenious closing system had actually worked. So I started getting ready, I put on a coffee and decided to take my time since I hadn't really slept. To my enormous surprise the assistance guy rang the doorbell at 8.15 am! I was on seventh heaven!! It took only two minutes (which made me a bit angry) but fixed the window.

Later on during the day I discovered that this weather is not typical of Helsinki (THANK GOD!) and that it is actually what remains of hurricane Irene, which hit the U.S.A. a few weeks ago.

Non mi ero mai resa conto che Helsinki, in quanto città di mare, sarebbe stata una capitale ventosa. Poi ho pensato anche che non può essere più ventosa di Chicago, la "città del vento" per definizione?!A quanto pare sì.L'altra sera avevo deciso di andare nella clubroom qui nella Domus Academica perché era stata organizzata una cena internazionale. La serata è stata divertente, non ho mangiato nulla a dire il vero perchè sono arrivata tardi, ma ha incontrato alcuni spagnoli davvero simpatici. Decido di andare a letto presto, non ho davvero dormito molto ultimamente e mi dovevo alzare presto la mattina dopo. Al rientro nella mia stanza stavo felicemente chattando su facebook con amici e moroso quando improvvisamente ho notato che la finestra esterna era aperta. Mi spiego: ho due finestre, una grande e una piccola. In realtà posso aprire solo la piccola. Entrambe però hanno doppi pannelli di vetro per isolare dal freddo. Bene, torniamo alla mia storia... la finestra esterna stava lentamente ma costantemente sbattendo sulla finestra interna, rendendola leggermente aperta. Fuori il vento soffiava sempre più forte. Le cose si stavano facendo serie. Decido di andare a letto e chiudere gli occhi, nella speranza che il peggio sarebbe stato il rumore fastidioso del vento.Poco dopo però i miei timori sono diventati realtà: le due finestre si sono spalancate! (e qui vi voglio ricordare: non ho una maniglia per quella finestra, sto vivendo a Helsinki e di notte diventa piuttosto freddo!). Ok, niente panico (PANICO!!). Che cosa devo fare?! Chiamo l'assistenza 24/24. Chiamo, rispondono, non lavorano per Domus, riaggancio. Corro giù in ingresso, cerco il numero giusto, risalgo fino al settimo piano, chiamo e chiedo subito se lavorano per Domus. Contenta della risposta, spiego il mio problema e mi sento rispondere: "il tecnico non ha i pezzi di ricambio con lui quindi dovrai aspettare fino a domani mattina". Gli chiedo allora che cosa secondo lui dovrei fare con una finestra spalanca che non posso chiudere e una bufera fuori. La sua risposta è stata: "Mi dispiace, non posso fare altro, non è un problema mio".Lasciatemi dire ...  C****!Bussare alla porta della mia vicina alle 2 del mattino non era quello che considero "regole del buon vicinato", ma non avevo scelta! E' così gentile e mi aiutato a chiudere la finestra in qualche modo con un bastone e un libro (la creatività degli studenti erasmus!) e poi abbiamo spostato il mio materasso in camera sua.La notte è passata lentamente e disturbata. Il vento mi ha davvero infastidito, e in più ero certa che quel bastone non avrebbe mai tenuto e camera mia sarebbe stata devastata. Al mattino sono uscita silenziosamente fuori e ho scoperto che il nostro ingegnoso sistema di chiusura in realtà aveva funzionato. Così ho iniziato a prepararmi, ho messo su un caffè e ho deciso di prendermi il mio tempo dato che non avevo praticamente dormito. Con mia grande sorpresa il tecnico ha suonato il campanello alle 8.15! Ero al settimo cielo! Ci sono voluti solo due minuti (che mi ha fatto un po' arrabbiare), ma ha aggiustato la finestra.Solo dopo ho scoperto che questo tempo non è tipico di Helsinki (Grazie a Dio!), e che è in realtà era ciò che rimaneva dell'uragano Irene che ha colpito gli Stati Uniti poche settimane fa.

Week 1

Today is Sunday, and it's been exactly one week since I moved to Helsinki. Time has flown!
I've arranged uni paper work, made my room look like home, toured the city, made new friends and started working for my internship and class projects.
Uni wise I'm doing some really cool stuff, but I'll talk about it further on, when things start getting some sort of shape and I figure out more in detail all that I'll be doing. For the moment I'm enjoying the novelty of everything, receiving emails with tasks to do, walking around the campus, going around the city to appointments and acting as if this could actually be my future job.

I'm posting a video of the entrance of one of the buildings where I go. I don't actually have classes there, but I prefer it to the entrance of my department so I always walk in through those doors!

Students here have all sorts of facilities they can use and opportunities. There is a section of the uni that is actually open 24/7 and you can access whenever you want once you get the electronic key. Coffee doesn't come from a machine, but from an actual bar. There is a sports center available at a very accessible price, where one can attend classes or just hit the gym, or even go rock climbing! I've also started a finnish course... why not learn the language as long as I am here?!

Two things I like the most about uni are: 1. the are no fees and 2. people actually encourage you to do only what you care to study and are interested in. Lots of students don't even finish their degree programs because they don't need that piece of paper here! What is important here is to learn, not to finish. There's a HUGE difference there!

On a more bittersweet note... I had a very hard goodbye to say this morning. My boyfriend, who came for the first week, left today. He helped me settle in, get used to the new city, the new house, the new "everything". We spent  incredible days, walking around town, meeting randomly in uni, going out for dinner, chatting with other students and just being together. It's going to be hard to be so far away, but this is life and we will make the best out of this experience!!

So, on to the next week, where hopefully I will start to have a more predictable schedule!

Oggi è domenica, ed è passata esattamente una settimana da quando mi sono trasferita a Helsinki. Il tempo è volato!Ho sistemato tutte le carte dell'uni, ho reso la mia stanza più confortevole, ho fatto un giro della città, ho fatto nuove amicizie e ho iniziato a lavorare per il mio stage e a progetti di classe.All'università sto facendo alcune cose davvero interessanti, ma ne parlerò più avanti, quando le cose inizieranno ad ottenere una forma e quando inizierò a capire più nel dettaglio tutto ciò che farò. Per il momento mi sto godendo la novità di tutto ciò, il ricevere email con i compiti da fare, passeggiare per il campus, andare in giro per appuntamenti e di comportarmi come se questo potesse essere realmente il mio futuro lavoro.
Ho pubblicato un video dell'ingresso di uno degli edifici universitari dove vado. Io in realtà non hanno lezioni lì, ma preferisco quell'ingresso a quello del mio dipartimento quindi potete immaginarmi camminare attraverso quelle porte!
Gli studenti qui hanno un sacco di servizi di cui poter beneficiare.Vi è una sezione del università che è aperta 24 / 7 e a cui si può accedere ogni volta che si vuole una volta ottenuta la chiave elettronica. Il caffè non viene da una macchinetta, ma da un bar vero e proprio. C'è un centro sportivo accessibile ad un prezzo molto conveniente, dove si possono frequentare lezioni, andare in palestra, o addirittura fare  arrampicata! Ho anche iniziato un corso finlandese... in fondo, perché non imparare la lingua fintanto che sono qui?!
Due cose mi piacciono in particolar modo dell'università: 1. non ci sono tasse e 2. le persone effettivamente ti incoraggio a fare solo quello che ti interessa. Molti studenti non finiscono nemmeno i loro corsi di laurea, perché non hanno bisogno di quel pezzo di carta qui! Ciò che è importante è imparare, non arrivare alla fine. C'è una differenza sostanziale tra i due atteggiamenti!
Cambiando argomento... Il mio ragazzo, che è venuto per la prima settimana, è partito oggi. Mi ha aiutato ad ambientarmi nella nuova città, nella nuova casa, al nuovo "tutto". Abbiamo passato giorni incredibili, camminando per la città, incontrandoci per caso in università, andando fuori a cena, chiacchierando con gli altri studenti e stando semplicemente insieme. Sarà difficile essere così lontani, ma questa è la vita e trarremo il meglio da questa esperienza!

The other night, after my finnish course, we went to see some fireworks from the beach near my house. People were shooting them from an island, and they were actually several groups competing against each other to see who had the best fireworks and the best timing with music.

The first one were the ones I preferred, maybe because there wasn't so much smoke in the air, like in the others. I actually managed to take a few nice pictures using just my mobile phone.

We came back to my house afterwards to have a late dinner and just as we were eating the fie alarm went off!!! Right in that moment it hit me that I had never heard a fire alarm go off for a real fire/smoke, I just had several simulation in school. So we had all walk down the stairs and try to figure out what had happened. Minutes later the firemen arrived and rushed in to see what was going on.

Can anyone guess??

I'll give you a hint... potatoes.

Ok then... apparently a girl was cooking and burnt some potatoes, so the smoke activated the fire alarm and we all had to out in the cold, some of us in our pigiamas! Ahahahha it was hilarious tho!!
Some of us still think it was just an excuse to finally meet everyone! :)

L'altra sera, dopo il mio corso di finlandese, siamo andati a vedere alcuni fuochi d'artificio dalla spiaggia vicino a casa mia. Li stavano sparando da un'isola, ed erano in realtà diversi gruppi in competizione gli uni contro gli altri per vedere chi aveva i migliori fuochi e chi andava più a tempo con la musica.

I primi sono stati quelli che ho preferito, forse perché non c'era così tanto fumo nell aria, come in quelli successivi. Io in realtà sono riuscita a scattare alcune foto belle utilizzando solo il mio cellulare.

Siamo tornati a casa mia per una tarda cena e proprio mentre stavamo mangiando è scattato l'allarme antincendio! E sono in quel momento mi sono resa conto che non avevo mai sentito un allarme antincendio suonare per davvero, ho sempre solo avuto simulazione a scuola. Così abbiamo dovuto camminare tutti giù per le scale e cercare di capire cosa fosse successo. Poco dopo sono arrivati i vigili del fuoco.

Qualcuno riesce a indovinare cosa è successo?

Vi do un indizio ... patate.

Niente ancora?

Ok allora ... apparentemente una ragazza stava cucinando e ha bruciato delle patate, il fumo ha attivato l'allarme antincendio e siamo tutti dovuti uscire fuori al freddo, alcuni di noi in pigiama Ahahahha è stato divertente!
Magari era solo una scusa per incontrare finalmente tutti! :)

Finally!! I arrived on Sunday, settled in somehow and this is the result. The video is done by my boyfriend, Giò (who came to visit for this first week), who comments ironically my "granny" slippers, my very full fridge, my lack of decorations and his "missing" bed (which is outside my room...). He's really just envious of my loft in the heart of Helsinki!!

Finalmente!!! Sono arrivata domenica, mi sono sistemata in qualche modo e questo è il risultato. Il video è stato fatto dal mio ragazzo, Giò, che commenta ironicamente il mio piccolo attico in centro ad Helsinki (hihihihi!! tutta invidia!)

So, what to say. Bags are packed, room is empty. And I am extremely nervous but I am sure that it will be an extraordinary experience.

Tomorrow at this time I will be settled in my own little room in Helsinki.

Beh, che dire. Le valigie sono pronte, la camera è vuota. E io sono estremamente nervosa ma sono certa che sarà un'esperienza straordinaria.
